Everything you need to know about our honey, our bees, and how we work.
Raw honey is honey that has never been heated above the natural temperature of a beehive — around 95°F. Unfiltered means it hasn't been forced through fine filters that strip out pollen, enzymes, and other beneficial compounds. Our honey goes from the frame to the jar with minimal processing, preserving everything that makes it special.
Crystallization is a completely natural process and is actually a sign of real, raw honey. Most commercial honey is heated and ultra-filtered specifically to prevent this — but that process destroys many of honey's natural properties. To re-liquify crystallized honey, simply place the jar in warm water (not boiling) and stir gently.
Honey has an indefinite shelf life when stored properly. Archaeologists have found honey in Egyptian tombs that was still edible after thousands of years. Keep your honey in a sealed jar away from direct sunlight and moisture and it will last as long as you need it to. We recommend storing it at room temperature.
Honey — including raw honey — should never be given to children under 12 months of age. This applies to all honey regardless of whether it is raw or processed. After 12 months, honey is generally considered safe. If you have concerns, please consult your pediatrician.
Orders are typically packed and shipped within 2–3 business days of being placed. Standard shipping takes 3–5 business days depending on your location. You will receive a confirmation email with tracking information once your order has shipped.
Yes! We offer free shipping on all orders over $50. Orders under $50 are subject to a flat shipping rate. All Subscribe & Save tiers also include free shipping on every quarterly shipment regardless of order size.
At this time we only ship within the contiguous United States. We hope to expand to additional regions in the future — follow us on Instagram for updates.
We take great care in packaging every order, but if something arrives damaged please reach out to us right away through our Contact page. Include a photo of the damage and we'll make it right — whether that's a replacement or a refund.
You choose a subscription tier, pay for the full year upfront, and we ship your honey to you four times a year — once every quarter. Each tier offers a different amount of honey and a different discount level. It's the easiest way to make sure you never run out.
Since subscriptions are paid upfront for the full year, cancellations are handled on a case by case basis. If you need to make changes to your subscription, please reach out to us through the Contact page and we'll do our best to accommodate you.
Shipments go out at the start of each quarter — January, April, July, and October. Your first shipment will go out at the start of the next quarter after your subscription is placed. You'll receive an email notification before each shipment.
Shipments will feature our seasonal wildflower honey unless otherwise specified. Depending on the time of year and what's available, the flavor profile may vary slightly from shipment to shipment — which is part of what makes raw honey so special. Higher tiers also include complimentary samples of our specialty products.
We're flexible! Backyards, farms, orchards, rural land — as long as there's a safe and accessible spot to place a hive or two, we're interested. Ideally the location has some nearby forage (flowers, gardens, or open fields) and is not directly adjacent to heavy pesticide use.
Our bees are well-managed, calm, and regularly inspected. We work hard to select gentle colonies for our host locations. Hives are typically placed in low-traffic areas of a property, and we handle all visits and maintenance ourselves. Most of our hosts rarely even notice the bees are there.
Host landowners receive a share of the honey harvested from their property each season. You'll also benefit from the natural pollination our bees provide, which can noticeably improve the yield and health of any gardens, fruit trees, or crops on your land. We handle everything — you just provide the space.
Head over to our Hosting Hives page and fill out the contact form. Tell us a bit about your property and we'll be in touch to discuss whether it's a good fit. We'd love to hear from you!
